On April 25 the Boiler Room set had an amazing show at New York City’s illustrious W Hotel, and featured performances from Cam’ron and Solange, along with DJ sets from Ryan Hemsworth and A$AP DJs. The whole thing was broadcasted by Boiler Room TV to help alleviate fear of missing out—But somehow I still happened to miss out!

Thank goodness there is now a stream of the 70 minute mix from Hemsworth/A$AP DJs set that played during the evening’s jam-packed line-up. Stream or download the extensive mix above via Soundcloud.

The xx were recently in Berlin for their Night + Day festival series and during their set, the band treated fans by bringing out Jessie Ware to perform a few songs with them. Together they covered a mix of Modjo’s hit “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” and Stardust’s track “Music Sounds Better With You.” Check out the footage from their performance above.

Istanbul’s Essential Designers | Powerful, Romantic, & Futuristic

Istanbul is very much a city of contrasts. It upholds a unique position in both Europe and Asia, lying at the intersection of two very different worlds. This diversity between east and west has continued to influence those creatives working in the city, from acclaimed novelist Orhan Pamuk to a new generation of artists and of course, designers. For the first edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, a selection of these often overlooked designers were given an international platform to showcase their work. As the five day event progressed, it became clear that these creatives are developing their own unique and innovative visions. Many of them experimenting with unconventional fabrics and conceptual designs, whilst still showing a concern for local traditions and artistic processes.

In many ways, Istanbul is still a city filled with traditions. Ryan McGinley confessed to us, “I love the tradition of drinking tea. I think that that is beautiful.” As we visited the studios of designers Nihan Peker, Ayhan Yetgin and Ozlem Kaya, it became increasingly evident that this still a concern for the new generation of creatives. “I really enjoy strolling around in historical places,” explained Ozlem Kaya in her studio. Similarly, Nihan Peker took us to a local dye house, whilst Ayhan Yetgin invited us to a traditional, family-run fabric shop, where he sources all his materials. In a city with such diversity and increasing innovation, it seems that Istanbul’s unique history will continue to reverberate through its streets and influence its creatives. “It is such a city of contrasts,” reinforced Jefferson Hack, who attended the shows. “It is very powerful, very romantic and it is also very futuristic as well.”

Paris Hilton Signs To Cash Money

This is interesting! Cash Money has added another millionaire to its lineup. Paris Hilton has signed to the famed hip-hop label.

According to Roger Friedman of Showbiz 411, the heiress has found a new homealongside Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga, and more.

Cash Money CEO Birdman welcomed her to the family. “Welcome@ParisHilton to tha Family.RichgangRichgirl.YMCMB,” he tweeted.

“Thanks BO$$! Happy to be apart of the family. #PH❤YMCMB,” responded Paris.

The 32-year-old socialite is currently recording her second album, which will feature hip-hop acts including Weezy. It will be produced by Afrojack and is due this summer.

“This is a lot different than my first album,” Paris told Friedman of 2006′s Paris, which featured Fat Joe and Jadakiss. “It’s really going to be house music.”

She will preview new music during her residency in Ibiza, Spain, this summer.

Paris stars alongside her YMCMB family including Weezy, Birdman, and Nicki Minaj in the video for Rich Gang’s “Tapout.” Last year, she released an Afrojack-produced song called “Last Night” featuring Wayne.
